Oren Shiran

Oren

Mr. Shiran co-founded QM Capital in 2004 and shares all R&D and portfolio management responsibilities. Prior to founding QM Capital, Mr. Shiran was a Computational Mathematics graduate student at Stanford University. During his three years at Stanford, Mr. Shiran published articles in the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Journal and in the American Association of Artificial Intelligence Conference. Currently, Mr. Shiran serves as a board member of the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley Investment Committee and the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California. He earned an M.S. in Computational Mathematics from Stanford University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from UC Berkeley. Mr. Shiran also holds a Series 65 license.





 

Stefan Tang

Stefan

Mr. Tang co-founded QM Capital in 2004 and shares all R&D and portfolio management responsibilities. Prior to founding QM Capital, Mr. Tang was a Computational Mathematics graduate student at Stanford University. He has served as a panelist in investment conferences, including recently at the annual Wharton Investment Conference. Prior to Stanford, Mr. Tang worked in the software development industry in Germany. He earned an M.S. in Computational Mathematics from Stanford University and a Diplom in Computer Science from Technische Universität (Berlin). Mr. Tang also holds a Series 65 license.

Seavan Sternheim

Seavan

Mr. Sternheim joined QM Capital in 2006 and is responsible for all operations and client relations. Prior to joining QM Capital, Mr. Sternheim was Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, managing a $275 million portfolio of VC and PE clients. He is a member of the finance committee for the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley and is a board member for the Jewish Sports Hall of Fame of Northern California. Mr. Sternheim earned an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University and a B.S. in Finance from Lehigh University. He also holds a Series 65 license.

David Deacon, Ph.D.
Successful CEO, Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor

Dr. Deacon has been an entrepreneur and private investor for over 25 years. He was the founder and CEO of Gemfire Corporation and later founded Sparkolor. Dr. Deacon has 82 publications and 46 issued patents, and holds a PhD in Physics from Stanford University.

Don Griffith
Founder and CEO of GrandPoint Capital, LLC

Mr. Griffith has over 25 years experience in the financial services industry, most recently founding, building, and selling two banks (First Coastal Bancshares and Peninsula National Bank). Prior to that, Mr. Griffith founded a KKR-backed investment firm focused on banks and thrifts, and served as a key advisor on KKR's purchase of the Bank of New England (Fleet). Prior to that, Mr. Griffith was Executive Vice President and CFO of First Interstate Bancorp. Mr. Griffith earned an MBA from Harvard University.

Professor James Van Horne
A.P. Giannini Professor of Finance, Stanford University

Dr. Van Horne has been a professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business since 1965. Dr. Van Horne has authored five books and published over 60 articles in finance, economic, and management journals. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Synnex Corporation and Montgomery Street Income Securities, Inc. Dr. Van Horne is also a former President of the American Finance Association.

Professor Ken Singleton
C.O.G. Miller Distinguished Professor of Finance, Stanford University

Dr. Singleton has been a professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business since 1987. Dr. Singleton’s professional awards include the Smith-Breeden Distinguished Paper Prize from the Journal of Finance, the Frisch Prize from the Econometric Society and the Irving Fisher Dissertation Award. He was named fellow of the Econometric Society in 1988 and of the Journal of Econometrics in 1998. Dr. Singleton also served as Vice President of Goldman Sachs's Fixed Income Research Department from 1991-1992 while on leave from Stanford.

Eli Sternheim, Ph.D.
Successful CEO, Entrepreneur, and Angel Investor

Dr. Sternheim has more than 25 years of experience in engineering, management, entrepreneurship, and investments. He co-founded interHDL, a successful EDA company that was acquired by Avant! in 1998. Dr. Sternheim is an investor and past Board member in dozens of technology companies. Dr. Sternheim received his B.Sc. in EE from the Technion, and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in EE from Carnegie Mellon University.
